Established in 1964, the Maya Kitchen Culinary Arts Center started out as a test kitchen carrying out recipe–testing and research for the company´s wheat–based products. It later evolved into a culinary school counting proprietors and key personnel of prominent institutions in the business including hotels, restaurants, bakeshops and coffee shops, among its roster.
As the pioneer in the industry, the Maya Kitchen blends its experience, and expertise with the passion for food spanning over forty years. The pursuit for excellence is evidenced by continuous improvement in course offerings and services that are relevant to the times. These are as varied as its markets : from the basic ´how to´s´ for kids to refresher and upgrading classes for professionals, as well as home management skills for housewives , on to ´negosyo´ courses for entrepreneurs and skills "for" employment programs . Tutorial programs are also offered. These are conducted by culinary specialists in a professional, well–appointed and comfortable setting.
Its competence and popularity puts it at the forefront as it carries out other tasks including product development and public service through cooking and baking demonstrations and dissemination of recipes through media and the publication of cookbooks.
The Maya Kitchen´s background is well–rounded. It is greatly enriched by its close association and cooperation with the country´s hotels and restaurants. Partnerships with counterparts in Asia and the United States have given it a global outlook. On top of this is accreditation by the Technical Skills and Development Authority (TESDA).
